free algebra solver online is my biggest problem. Can any one help me understand it? I am a beginner at it. What book or other resource do you suggest for starting this subject?

I possibly could help if you can be more specific and provide details about free algebra solver online. A right software would be best option rather than a algebra tutor. After trying a number of program I found the Algebrator to be the best I have so far found . It solves any math problem from your book . It also explains all the steps (of the solution). You can just reproduce as your homework . However, you should use it to learn algebra, and simply not use it to copy answers.

It is good to know that you wish to improve your math and are taking efforts to do so. I think you should try Algebrator. This is not exactly a tutoring software but it provides solutions to math problems in a very descriptive manner. And the best thing about this software product is that it is very user friendly. There are a lot of demos given under various topics which are quite useful to learn the subject. Try it and wish you good luck with math.

Algebrator is the program that I have used through several algebra classes - Basic Math, College Algebra and Algebra 2. It is a really a great piece of algebra software. I remember of going through difficulties with converting decimals, inverse matrices and trigonometric functions. I would simply type in a problem from the workbook , click on Solve – and step by step solution to my math homework. I highly recommend the program.
